His name is si Ganteng (or the Handsome, for he is really cool and handsome). He has been with me for more than 4 years now. And he has been a very good friend. A very very good friend.
In fact, sometimes he feels like a second home to me.
Back in our early days, he brought me everyday from Newton to Choa Chu Kang and vice versa. Ganteng could make that distance in 15 minutes by PIE outside the rush hours. That’s fast, man! Yes, he can be really fast when he wants.
Then I used to sleep with him in the East Coast at nights. When my place in Newton was no longer convenient. If I went home, quarrels were bound to happen. Who wanted to face that everyday? And Choa Chu Kang was no longer the place for me to escape. So I escaped to East Coast car park instead. Or Changi Beach Rd. Or sometimes to Mt. Faber. And there I would sleep with Ganteng.
After I found my current place, I hardly slept with Ganteng anymore. Only sometimes when I went home late at night. My clubbing and drinking session sometimes does not sit well with my missus. The door was barred and I could not enter my home. And I only have Ganteng to turn to. I would then find a convenient car park and sleep with him there.
Ganteng has seen some rough days. Only he knows how many scars he has on his body. Lately, somebody who was envious of his cool and handsome features, took a sharp object and run it through the side of his body. The 2 scars are still there until now. I haven’t really had time to take care of it.
But he is still really fast. I know I could always count on him that way. Recently I drove home a princess in Woodlands. And Ganteng could make that distance in 20-25 minutes’ time!
Sooner or later I know I must part with Ganteng. No matter how much I love him, I could not hold on to him forever. Just a question of when. There is one sexy lady who has been seducing me again and again. Very sexy and simply beautiful. It is the red Alfa Romeo 159 salon. And if ever I made that decision to switch, that’ll be the time that I part with my handsome Toyota Celica SS2 — si Ganteng.
